Snowboarding again for the second time. During Freshman year over the Christmas break my sister was planning to go snowboarding around New Years with her boyfriend, Kevin. After Christmas she was excited to go snowboarding and she asked me if I wanted to go with her. I said yea and I was excited also. The next day we went shopping to get my snow clothes and I got a jacket and pants so I don't get my inside clothes wet. Later we went to Any Mountain (which is a store we went in Berkeley) to rent my snow boots and snowboard. I didn't know where we were going snowboarding and I thought we were going to "any mountain" to rent my equipment then we arrived to the store called Any Mountain. I got my snow boarding equipment and got myself a pair of snow gloves and thermal socks.
It was New Years Eve, My sister and I went to spend the night at Kevin's house so we could leave in the morning. It was New Years leaving at 6 o'clock to Boreal. It was about a two hour trip and we arrived there. We got our tickets for the ski lift. We got our snowboard ready to go on the lift and we got to the top. Since it was my second time I wasn't nervous going down the slope because I did okay on my first snowboarding trip. So I went for it gaining a lot of speed about less than half down and I end up face planting onto the ground. This happened because I forgot to stay on my heel or toes instead I went flat feet on the board that made my board a little wobbly. I end up with a busted lip and became numb, I was okay.
Two hours later we went to the very top of the mountain and I was scared going down. Some parts had sharp turns and was steep. I was be hide while I was going slowly down the hill, maybe an hour later I got down.(Sutherland you heard that your abbes gets sore?something like that but my legs were sore from my body weight on my heels but I didn't get sore on my abbes.) After we went off to the side playing in the snow but Kevin wanted to go snowboarding some more. It was my sister and I and we made a snowman. Kevin came back and we had a snowball fight with a snow fort.At Boreal it kinda suck because the snow wasn't soft and smooth and it's warmer than the other places. Boreal was about 40 degrees and the snow was hard. We went home after and all that was a one day trip.
Hope I go again this break!

The Gold Rush
Making a project about the gold rush. In 5th grade my teacher assigned the class a writing assignment about pretending that we were in the gold rush. I just wanted to bring this writing of mine of the gold rush for fun and show how horrible and funny my writing was. In this writing I'm not going to correct my grammar errors, so I'm going to leave it as it is.
A long time ago in the 1790, I was 29 years old and I was going to dig for some gold so I could be rich. I was digging for gold and there was a lot of people there. I was digging some gold so, I was to the store and I bought a weapon to protect myself.
at the store and got materials for the gold, I went back to the river. I put the pan in the water to see if there was gold in there. Someone tried to steal my gold, but I had my knife to protect myself and he ran away.
I got married and I stopped digging for gold. I was almost rich but I had a lot of gold.
Doing this project took a few days to complete because we were supposed to make a picture frame and a writing about the gold rush attach to it. The worst part of this project was making the frame because we had to cut out the picture frame by ourselves. We had crappy scissors to cut the hard card board out and it was crowded in the corner with people sharing a big piece of cardboard. We would cut out a picture frame design for our picture.
Later we took our pictures and there wasn't many choices of props, there was a hat (if you wanted to wear it), a big button coat, pick axe, and a shovel as I remembered. I'm not sure if this real but my teacher told us we couldn't smile in the picture back then because if you do, the camera would take your soul or have bad luck, she said some thing like that. We had to type up our writing and make it look old by tearing the sides, wrinkle the paper a lot, and the teacher soaked our writing in tea.

Martial Arts
(On my last blog, not the new statement one I don't feel like continuing it. Also on my new statement I just failed on one of my goals which was writing my blog before Friday. . . and it's Friday.)
Now I'm doing my other goal, writing about my martial arts. I'll probably be writing more on this topic when I feel like it. I been taking Kung Fu/Vietnamese Martial Arts for about four years now but I kinda do some Vietnamese Martial Arts (V.M.A) because there located at the same place. I'm taking lessons at my Uncle's garage so yea. For (V.M.A) I am a blue belt and I don't know whats the belt order but highest is red belt(male)and yellow belt (female). I only learn Vietnamese forms and always go to tournaments every year.
As for Kung Fu, I am a first degree brown belt(just got promoted to first degree yesterday =]). The belt orders are white, orange, purple, blue, green, brown, and black. There is class on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday located in Hayward in my Uncle's garage and there are two class. The first class is for the younger kids and second is the older people. We train for about an hour and a half. Now the kids class is getting too crowded.
For the second class that I'm in, there are three black belts including the teacher, two brown belts, and a green belt in there. For me it sucks because this year I have been going once a week on Thursdays. I only go once because my mom has work late at night and I can't get a ride. In class we warm up with stretching, kicking, punching, and sometimes jump roping. We do our different types of forms. First we do the all four cotta (I think that's how you spell it)forms and the other type of form is called pinon and it goes up to 1-15 forms. I only got up to 13 but when we work on our forms we only go up to what the lowest rank knows up to like if they only know up to pinon 11, we only go up to 11. The thing I don't like to practice are punching attack 1A,1B,2A,2B ect., up to 15. The other one is called grab-arts that go up to 15 and sometimes I get them mixed up with both of them or forget it.
I'll be writing about this again.

New Statement of Purpose
So during this first quarter I been writing all my blogs on Friday. In the beginning of the school year when we started on our blogs I thought writing up to 300 words would be hard. I reviewed all my passed blog post and I actually been writing about 400+ words. When I write my blogs I feel comfortable because I could write about any topic I want. But sometimes when I write up a blog I don't know what to write about.
In my other statement of purpose I said I was going to write about Kung Fu and Vietnamese Martial Arts. In the first quarter I never did that and didn't feel like it. So far I been writing about topics that are interesting and things from my past life. There are so many topics I could write about besides my martial arts. In this second quarter I will try to write a blog or a few on that topic. When I don't know what to write about I just write about what I did on a day like I did on my last post about biking riding. I need to stop posting my blog on Friday and use the time wisely in the computer room.
In my first blog post my goals were planing on writing about staying on topic of my writing, grammar, punctuation, speed of my writing, and develop my paragraphs. I been staying on topic on my blogs, punctuation, and now I'm starting to develop my paragraphs since I saw on the dailies we had to make 3 paragraphs in our post. My new goals are to proof read my writing and I noticed I made some errors on my other blog post. Make a blog post about martial arts. Increase the speed on my writing because it takes me about one to two hours to finish. Start making my post before Friday and continue on writing about different topics I choose to write about.

Today's Adventure
An adventure on the island. Today we (Adam R., Nathan T., Nathan Tr., and me) had an adventure on Alameda/Bay farm island bike riding! Starting from the morning, I woke up, went to brush my teeth ect. and ate. Later I got bored so I called Nathan T if he wanted to go bike riding and the others and they wanted to go. I got ready to meet up with them at the main island. I was heading over to the garage to get my bike but it was flat so I checked the other bikes and they were all flat. I got the bike pump (borrowed from Adam) to inflate my bike but something was wrong. Each time I put the air hole pump in the air tube it keeps popping out when I pump it. It kept pissing me off when I tried to pump the dam bike and I thought the pump was the problem. My bike was the problem because the air tube kept going in the tire but I already knew that. I pump my mom's bike and it worked fine.
I took a while pumping my bike so my friends wanted me to meet them at bike bridge and I was on my way. When I was close the bike bridge there was so many bumps on the walk way and I was riding with no hands for fun. Out of no where I hit those bumps and almost fell. I saw them at the bike bridge (see Nathan T fall he was okay). We followed the bike trail along the water. Adam was thirsty and later we found a water fountain. We took a break and there was a tower to climb up and we were playing around on it. We went to the streets and found a path next to the lagoon and there are a lot of random parks. But it turns out we were there before and looked around some more.
Later we found a park ahead of us and we been there before and it was the fun park close to the Bay Farm School. We played sandman on the small play structure and it was fun. Later we went to the better play structure next to the one we're at. We were just messing around and swinging on the swing. There was a tire swing and all four of us tried to balance the tire and we did it for like 20 seconds. Someone ends up falling and the last one we balanced on the tire swing both of the Nathan’s fell kind of bad because Nathan T had to turn the opposite way and made me tilt the tire but it was fun. After that we went some where else and ended up at the same spot where the view tower was.
Continuing next blog.

Getting Money
How do you earn money? Do you ask your parents for cash? Well, sometimes I ask for money when it's for school stuff. The way I earn money is by working for it from my job at the Free Market near Laney College 's parking lot every Sunday.
My dad owns table's so people can rent them. There are six groups of people of two working and I work with my brother. My brother and I head over to the Free Market around 3:45 pm to collect the tables (you might see me in a red or blue truck if you go) that my dad let people rent. Some of the workers use the flat bed cart to stack tables and load the tables onto the truck and make a small stack on the ground when the truck is full. My brother and I use the pick up truck to load tables to make it faster and easier. We head over to the self storage close by to unload the tables onto a pallet with four stacks in two storage's. There's another group with a pick up truck doing the same thing as us. That's a lot of tables and including three stacks on the big truck and six on the other truck. We have to hurry because the owner or the person in charge of the Free Market is very strict and people need to clean up the parking lot but some people who are selling are slow cleaning up. We check the parking lot for tables and my dad parks the two truck.
Working at the Free Market isn't that bad and it's pretty easy to me. My brother and I get paid every two work days. I get 70 dollars for the two weeks, not bad for my age I guess. But the only time I hate about working is in the Spring or Summer because it's HOT working in the sun for two half hours straight and I get a little tired. Another time when it rains on Sunday = [ because people don't sell and don't want our tables to get wet and I miss 35 dollars that day. The last few weeks I got lucky because it started to rain on Monday and being close missing another 70 dollars.

Best Random Moments
Where to start...Oh, when it was 7th grade during the finals or the state testing. We had our 30 minute break time and hanging out with my friends. One of them was talking about the long jump test thing we did in PE. He asked me if I could jump over a person while they are sitting down, so one of them sat down and I jumped over him. I was like wow that was easy and two other of my friends sat down in a row (3 people). Some people came and watched to see what was going on then I made it over them. It was still easy so two other people I knew joined the sitting line. I made it over, thinking it wasn't that bad of a jump then people were interested and became a semi circle of crowd people. Now it's 7 people sitting in a line, went for it and made it. One person came joining the line being the 8th person then a 9th person and made it. Now it's at the 10th person and I was nervous. I went for it but I messed up. I needed the line to move down farther for more running room, so I went for it and barely made it almost stepping on my friends face. I jumped about 9ft, I was surprised I made it and a random person gave me a dollar.
I was on vacation in Las Vegas with my family. We went to Circus Circus to the game prize room and my parents went to go gamble and I was with my older brother and sister. I saw a person with a big basketball prize that was the exercise ball and I wanted it. We went to go look for a game that had those prizes. I found one with the baseball in the old milk jug toss in but it was hard. Each ball throw was cost a dollar so I went for it and missed all 7 shots. The last throw looked like it went in but it didn't and I was sad. We went to look for a better game with the same prize. There was a ring toss in the coke bottle. I took 25 rings for like $3 and it was in a cup so I just dumped all at once and missed at of them, haha. I went back to the milk jug and spent another $5 and still missed. =( I found an easier game with the prize with the beach ball on top of the fan making the ball move up and down. This game looked easy to play costing $1 per bag sacks. My parents came and found us and my mom helped my out with $5 to start with. On my first shot I got so lucky. I hit the ball I was aiming for and I hit the side of it and knocked the ball on the left. I was so happy I won a big ball but it suck the 4 extra sack bags I couldn’t throw the rest because it was one winner per prize. My family got one throw each and missed but it would have been cool to have more than one ball. Was it worth paying $20 bucks for a big ball? Yes, it was worth it.

My Accidents (Part 2)
Now Part 2 of My Accidents continues. This third accident was dumber but I was young, didn't know any better. I was 7 years old at the time in a park. It was on a weekend when I went with my mom to her friend's house to go baby sit her 4 year old daughter. My mom baby sits her and helps clean up the house. Sometimes we go to the park a few blocks away from the house. I wanted to go to the park but this time we went to a different park. My mom's friend and her other daughter went to go have swimming practice or swimming lessons so we went along with them. But we didn't go swimming and we found a park that was beside the pool down a hill. We were just chillin at the park and having lunch at the table. When I was done eating I wondered off towards a gate fence to see what’s over the other side of the fence and I look down and see the pool. Beside me there was about a 10 pound big rock that was a size of a bowl. For some reason I wanted the rock to end up in the pool and see it roll down the hill if the rock would go in the pool. I picked up the rock and try to throw over the fence but it bounced off the top. When I saw it hit the tip the rock hit my head on the left side. I went to my mom and she put me laying on the table. She called the ambulance and I passed out, I didn’t remember anything. My mom thought I was rolling down the hill and a glass cut my head. This time I don’t have a scar.
This accident happened when I was 12 years old outside of the teen center right across the street from the foreign language building. My friends and I were in the front of the Memorial building hanging outside. My friend Adam (2nd period) and I made up a random game. It was us two playing the game and was about spinning in circles to see how long you could last or until you fall or give up. The first round started by both of us starting at the same time and I fell so I lost. The second round started and while I was spinning all the colors looked cool so I took out my phone to record it and I started to lose balance when I took out my phone. Right when I opened my phone I hit my right side of my head on the second step. When I hit my head it didn’t really hurt it was like someone slapping your head hard. I sat up and started to smile and Adam came to check on me and laugh a little because I was smiling. When I was sitting up I felt something rushing down my head and I thought it was my sweat coming down. But then it was blood and I got scared. I told Adam to get help and he ran down stairs to get help. Someone from the teen center thought I was skateboarding and fell. I waited for people to come and while I was waiting blood was pouring out of my head. The blood was pouring down in a line making a big puddle of blood. Someone from the teen center got a towel to put it on my head and another person called the ambulance. When they came they bandaged me up and started asking me question to see if I lose any memory or not. I kept saying I was ok and they said what’s your name, how many fingers am I holding, what’s today, etc. They wanted me to call my mom to let her know I was injured. They brought me to the hospital and made me wait to bring me in the little bed thing. The doctor came and asked me some questions and I was like omg not this shit again because I was annoyed from the first guy. I was laying on the bed and they rinsed the blood on my head. My sister and dad came in to see me and the doctor stitched me up. I have a scar on my head from 3 out of 4 accidents. I still remembered when this happened it was Friday November 20th 2007 4:30pm. Almost 3 years.

Anotations on Article
(3.) Some examples will highlight the process. Several years ago one of my students conducted a research project investigating preschoolers’ conceptions of[4] Native Americans. Using children at a local day care center as her participants, she asked these three- and four-year-olds to draw a picture of a Native American. Most children were stumped by her request. They didn’t know what a Native American was. But when she rephrased the question and asked them to draw a picture of an Indian, they readily complied. Almost every picture included one central feature: feathers. In fact, many of them also included a weapon—a knife or tomahawk—and depicted the person in violent or aggressive terms.
How I annotate is by reading the paragraph several times. When I read it I chunk slowly and underline the important things in the paragraph. I take notes and write how I reacted to this paragraph. In this article this teacher is being races about Native Americans to preschoolers. She told them to draw an Indian and they did not know what an Indian was. She told them to draw an angry person with weapons and they followed her directions. Not all Native Americans are aggressive and she should have told them to draw a tribe or something different that 4 year olds know.

My Accidents (Part 1)
I'm going to talk about my four accidents as in injury accidents. All of these accidents were stupid when I was young. My first injury accident was when I was 4 years old jumping on my brothers bed because I was excited. I was excited because of about Godzilla being in the movie theater or on TV. I started running around the house screaming out Godzilla, Godzilla. I went to my brother’s room jumping onto his bed for like 5 minutes still screaming about Godzilla. There was a window next to me and one minute later BOOM I hit my right outer side of my eye. My eye hit the sharp edge of the window and I blanked out. So I don't remember exactly what happened after that, but this was what my mom told me. My Mom was in the kitchen washing dishes and heard me screaming and a minute later she heard a hard sound. She rushed over to see what happened and sees me on the ground with blood beside me. She called the ambulance and I went to the ER. I didn’t remember anything after I hit the ground or stitches on my eye. You can still see my scar next to my right eye.
My next bad injury accident was a car crash accident. This happened when I was 5 years old on my first day of Kindergarten. As I remembered my mom picked me up from school and we went to China Town to go grocery shopping. After that we were on our way back home to Alameda. We were in a small blue pick up truck with the backseats being cramped and I was sitting in the back. We end up at a stop sign and there was a car at the right, another in front of us in opposite direction. The front car went and the right side car went and while the right car went I did not see a car at the left side of us. After the right car went I saw my mom look at both sides and there wasn't a car at the left so we went. Right when we were half way crossed, a freakin car came out of nowhere and hit the tail of our truck and we started to spin around in circles. When we got hit I hit my left side of my forehead just two inches away from my eye… again. I hit my forehead on another sharp plastic edge of a broken arm rest. Do you think this accident was stupid? Well I wasn’t wearing my seat belt but it wouldn’t have helped much because it was the waste belt and probably couldn’t stop me from hitting my forehead. The ambulance came fast and opened the door to get me out. I was dizzy and I see drops of blood and I think I fainted. I remember being in the hospital in the ER again and the doctors were stitching up my two inch cut. It HURT so bad when they were stitching my cut and my mom said it was difficult for them to stitch me up because I kept moving around. My mom had to come in and hold my hand; she said I was holding her hand hard. I still went back to school and it took awhile to heal back. You could still see my scar but it’s like one inch.
I will continue my other 2 accidents next blog post.

Are you bored? Go get a camera and do some Stop Motion! If you have a free day with nothing to do, you could try out stop motion. Stop motion is about creating a video by taking pictures. It would be better to have a good camera with a lot of photo films and could take fast picture at a time, that would be faster. If you don't have that kind of camera and you have a descent kind of camera it would take longer. Stop motion takes time to make a video but it's fun. When some people make a three to five minute video it takes about nine hours for all the making, editing, and posting. The picture people have taken all together have about 50,000 photos. Making this stop motion video is interesting, entertaining, and funny to watch but it takes hard work. You just need to move about one inch per photo and you could make a post or lay on the floor to make it look like your sliding.
Again looking at random videos, then I some how found this on You Tube or saw something similar on TV. When I first saw a stop motion video it looked odd to me because it was a person sliding on the floor and another person on his back which they were doing The Human Skateboard. I was thinking of making a stop motion video and I end up making one with my brother and my friend. But we weren't all in the same picture at once in making a video, it was one set for each of us. My brother and his stop motion was fast, it was just him sliding on the floor and spinning. My friend made one with himself spinning in a circle but that one was a test to see how it looked like. He made another one of himself standing with a sword coming at towards the camera. My friend and I thought of a good stop motion of me. I was a regular person starting to transform with armor up grades which was my sparing gear I put on each piece like every 15 photos. My stop motion took about 50 minutes for a 20 second video with 327 photos. With the other stop motion and mine combined was a 32 second video with 462 photos. I wish I could post up my stop motion video on You Tube but I don't know how to edit it and post it online.
This video I like the best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJzU3NjDikY
This video must have taken forever to make http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uad17d5hR5s&feature=player_embedded

Le Parkour/Free Running
What is Parkour and Free running? They are pretty much the same thing but they are a little different from each other. This is a popular sport mainly taken place in England,France, and the UK. There are not a lot of Free Runners in other countries and there are a few in the U.S.A. Le Parkour means "The Art Of Movement". Its not the kind of sport that's like the other sport. You could do this anywhere because its mostly doing Parkour vaults, flips, and wall running. Parkour vaults are doing tricks on rails, doing crazy stuff off of objects, and combination's. A vault is jumping or leaping, especially with the use of hands. In England there are a lot of people who do this for fun in the city.
The reason why I am writing about this because I find this interesting and tell people about it. I want to do free running too and I'm working on it. There are lots of different vaults to do and I know how to do a few of the vaults. In the future, I might plan on taking gymnastics for private lessons to learn flips. This is not for sure but if I'm good enough I would go to England or France to do Parkour with a team. I was interested in Parkour when I found some video on You tube and I started to watch them. When I was watching some videos it looked fun and made me want to do Parkour. The people who are doing Parkour are BEASTLY and they are incredible. From these videos I try to learn some of the vaults they do and tutorial videos. I want to list the things I can do Monkey Vault, Kong Vault, King Kong Vault, Lazy Vault, Turn Vault, Gate Vault, Under Bar, maybe a Bar Flip but I had attempt it on my couch and the Palm Spin, Wall Run up about 9ft-11ft high, Human Flag Pole, a Front Flip but I'm still working on the landing, oh and Dive Rolls.
Here are some videos you could check out on You Tube copy this link below

Kung Fu and Writing
One of the the things i want to write about is Kung Fu and Vietnamese Martial Arts. I want to write about this topic because it's awsome to learn new things. I want people to know what I do or plan in the future what I'm going to do with my skills I learned. In the future i plan to take
Martial Arts for as long as I can and teach people the basic how to defend yo urself.
I hope to improve my writing by staying on topic and not get stuck on my writing asignment. In the future I plan on improving things on my writing. Spelling errors are annoying to me because when I think it's wrong I try to spell it again and it slows me down on my writing. i want to develop my paragraphs more and punctuation. I want to im prove my speed of writing so I can get done fast. When i write i keep stoping to think what to write about and keep going until I'm done.It would help me with my essays and my SAT Test.
