While I was reviewing my older blog posts, my favorite post was when I went snowboarding several times. This link is all my snowboarding trips I have blogged about Boreal Ski Resort, North Star Ski Resort,Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. I had one more snowboarding trip but I accidentally delete it. The one I deleted was my first time snowboarding with my friend, Adam. We went somewhere around Yosemite National Park in 2008. My other trips I went with in Boreal was with my sister and her boyfriend. The rest of the trips I went with my sister, just the two of us. When Winter comes by it is my favorite season of the year because ever since I went snow boarding I like it a lot. Even tho went I went for the first I had fun when I fall. When I went on my second trip to Boreal I was excited. You will found this quote in Boreal Ski Resort. " Since it was my second time I wasn't nervous going down the slope because I did okay on my first snowboarding trip. So I went for it gaining a lot of speed about less than half down and I end up face planting onto the ground." When I reread this blog I remembered when I fell and made when smile. After I fell I end up busting my lip and it went numb. Never go to Boreal because it is a small place and the snow is not really soft. I love to snowboard. As I kept going on snowboarding trips, I gotten better and better. I do not fall as much now, but only when I am tired and need to rest my legs. On my last trip I finally found out how to get off the ski lift without falling. All you need to do is go straight down the lift and stay in the middle of your snowboard. When I go on snowboarding trips It feels fast and you only have like seven hours to snowboard. Most of them open until 9am-4pm. I wished it could open for another extra hour. I can not wait until my next snowboarding trip with my sister which is in about seven months.
8. How do you like having a blog? How has blogging changed the way you write, the way you think, or the way you think about writing?
Over both of the semester, working with writer's block has gone well. I like to block has an homework assignment every week. I get to share with people who are interested on my blog topics all around the world. In the beginning of the school year when we had to do a minimum of 300 word blogs, it sounded too much to type. As the first and second quarter past along, I have gotten up to the average of 400 word blogs. I thought second semester would be essay until second semester was changed by an extent ion of 200 more words. So every week blog posts were now 500 words minimum. As I did a few blogs it was not that bad. My length of writing improved when second semester started. Most of my blogs has 600+ words. Writer's block is a good practice for myself as a writer. It keeps me writing every week especially when we do our lit circle letters. It is great to be introduced with blogger because I do not like to write by hand. Using Google docs is much easier for me to type up my blogs because one, I do not need to write it by hand, two, it is faster to type rather by hand, three, if you make a spelling error it will correct your mistake. When we do quick writes on variety topics like TED talks and pictures, it helped me with my speed of writing. Some of the TED talks were interesting to write about (keep it up Sutherland) like video games, technology, ect. But next year English class might suck for me because I wont be able to use writer's block in class, and I would probably be writing with hand again for in-class essays. It should be okay for me because I have increased the speed of my writing from the quick writes. Also, I won't be able to use blogger or Google docs in school because they are going to block it to prevent people from looking at sexual content. Since this is the last blog post, I would probably use writer's block in the future from big events I'm about to do. This summer I am having my third Vietnamese tournament and I am excited to earn more medals. I would blog about this in the future. I want to know if other people would still update their blogs.
10. Where do you get your ideas for blog post topics? What inspires you to write?
This semester, I get all my blog post topics from events I went to, from watching TV, school,family,friends and martial arts. Like when I went to a Vietnamese New Years festival in San Jose (find out more here). It is my favorite time of the year because you receive lucky money in red envelopes. This year was the year of the tiger and last year was special because it was the year of the golden pig which comes like every 7 years. You get to play a Vietnamese gambling game with out getting caught because it is a Vietnamese tradition and cops can not do anything about it. I like to blog about what I do and the things I know I will do in the future. Like when I know I am going to have a martial arts tournament ahead of time I would blog about that, and it helps me figure out what to blog about next, instead of worrying about what to blog next. What inspires me to write about my topics are blogging about what I like to do. Some of these topics I blog about tells people what I like to do and subjects I like to do. Writer's block show people some perspective of what activity I currently do in daily life. For example, I love to snowboard, spend time with family, I take martial arts ect.

Maximum Ride Monthly Review
What part of the book surprised you? Why?
8.Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth. You can also analyze a relationship between two different characters.
The book I am read Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson. Max had escape from the Itex from the scientist who are trying to kill her. In the beginning they went to see a sports game and later on they were being noticed by the humans and they saw them in the newspaper. So they had to get out of the place before the erasers try to get them. Sothe Erasers were some of the first to be destroyed and have been replaced by the new better Flyboys (robotic Erasers that can fly). There were issues when Max invites Ari to join the group, leaving Fang and half of the flock to split off in protest, with Max the leader of one group, and Fang the leader of the second. And in the midst of all this, Max eventually finds out who her real parents are. But she is stuck at a castle, fighting. Max beats off Omega (a young boy that is seemingly perfect). As they are fighting they notice how helpful Fang's blog could be.
There were two parts that surprised me while I read my book. One of them was when Max returned back to Ella's house because in the first book Max found Ella in trouble so max came to save her. She had to leave because Max had to go rescue Angel. When she had left Ella's house Ella's mom, Dr. Martinez said she could come back if she needed any thing. But she did not want to cause any trouble to return. Max came back to Ella's along with Fang to get any information on the chip that was planted in Max's arm. It was a good idea to return back because Max showed Dr. Martinez her wounded arm and scan an x-ray and found a chip in her arm. Dr. Martinez found a way to take it out with out damaging her nerves.
The second part was when Ari saved the flocks and Max wanted Ari to join the group. But Fang thought she was crazy because Ari tried to kill them like hundred times in the back in the past and she wants Ari to tag along. Fand did not want Ari to be with them so Fang and Iggy decide not to join them. They were separated for about a week or two and Ari is with Max, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. Max and Fang feels like they do not need each other and Fang does not need Max in his life but Max feels left out flying without Fang being her wing man. Max's group head over to Germany because the head master of the Itex was located there. Later Fang received a message that Max needed him. He says,"So. Max wanted him back, eh? She didn't say weather she still had Frankenbirdy with her. If she did, Fang did not want any part of this."
Fang had checked his blog and max wrote him a message that their wasa lot of really bad stuff are going on in Germany. They were at the castle of the head of the Itex. Fang left the part of the flocks because Ari was with them and Fang did not trust him from after all the times he tried to kill the flocks. Fang should have trusted Max that Ari had changed and this part would not have happened. Fang has to get to Germany which is really far from where he is at and Max and her other flocks took a plane over to Germany. How is Fang going to end up way over there. He seemed to be lost when he read Max's Message. How was he going to get there, fly across the world to Germany? Fang better get there before Max is in big trouble with out his help. He wanted to know how bad the issue had occurred. He continues his blog that he still has a chance to save the world.

Jeb is the father of Ari who raised him just like the flocks but not exactly the same. Jeb also mutated his son with the flocks except he didn't have wings. Ari is the leader of the erasers. He was trained to hunt down the flocks and "tries" to kill them. He is ordered to attack the flocks and take one of the flocks if he is told to do so. Ari also has a "thing" for Max that he is in love with her. There was part where Ari attacked the flocks at the beach. Max and Ari were fighting one on one chasing each other in the sky fighting. Ari fly's back down and Max attacks him sending him to the ground. Ari hits the ground ending up breaking his neck. But Ari came back alive in the third book which is weird when i found that out. In this quote he mentions about how he came back: "Uh-to make up for almost killing you back in New York?" Ari didn't look at me. "You did kill me," he said. "They brought me back. Fused some of the bones in my neck."
When I read in the book where Ari starts to come back it surprised me because Max killed him. I wondered how Ari came back but I knew that Jeb had revived him. It is kind of obvious that Jeb is most likely the only person who could bring him back to life. I did not know that Ari would come back but he did. Now I know how Ari got his neck fixed when Max killed him by the neck. How long did it take Jeb to fused some of Ari's bones back in his neck. It looks like Ari had changed since he saved the flocks and he starts to be more open. He tells Max more information she needs to know. What if Ari try to trick the flocks and bring them to a trap and all of this is a set up? Because the flocks were captured by the flyboys who are like erasers they do they erasers job and they are robots with guns attached to their hands, and Ari came by to rescue them. Ari helped the flocks escape from their cage. As the flocks flew in the sky Max sees the guards with guns running towards Ari and she knew they were going to kill him. The flocks wanted him dead because he tried to kill them like a hundred times. Even tho Max had already killed Ari once and if he died again he might be resurrected again. But Max has a feeling that Ari is started to change because he helped the flocks get out. The flocks don't trusted him but Max and Angel do. It seems like this could be a rap leading for the flocks.

Summer Plans
This is the last free topic blog post of the school year with only 21 days until summer! I am going to blog about my summer plans. Well I do not really know what I am going to do this summer yet. I would go hang out my friends of course. I would like to go swimming but i don't know who has their own pool and i don't like going to the schools pool because it is crowed. I would probably go biking with my friends.
My sister, her friend, and i are trying to do new activities over the break. My sister wants to try out boxing with her friend and she asked me if i wanted to go and I was interested. This sounds like fun and it would help me with speed with my punches. I could practice with my sisters friend on sparing. In July I am having my Vietnamese Martial Arts tournament and boxing could help me a little with my sparing match. I am probably going to be nervous again. I am going to have two performances with a Vietnamese form and a sparing match. Last year i missed my form performances because I didn't know I was supposed to go the day before the tournament started. This time I have to do two performances. I need to practice my form and get a gold on both of them. I hope that i won't mess up, i have about two months to master these form and practice sparing.
My parents are planning to go to Hawaii for our summer vacation. They are not sure yet. My sister and I need to renew our passports at Costco which we need to do as soon as possible. I always wanted to visit Hawaii and the water looks so clean and clear. I might even learn how to surf or not. I would like to visit Vietnam again but my mom says we are going next summer. Every summer she says that and we don't and she said in two years we will go. I am really looking forward to this trip because my last visit was back in 2001 as a first grader. Really long ago, 9 years. In 2005, I saw the Vietnamese news channel and it changed a lot. I saw some English writing on the stores and they have coins or that's just me I probably don't remember 9 years ago.
In the mean while when summer starts I will sleep in and stay up a little late than usual. Sign up for gamefly again and rent some games i want to play. I would be playing a lot of video games and finish them in a few days. I'll probably try to attempt something crazy if I'm bored like last summer I attempt my first front flip in my house with pillows everywhere. It turned out okay but i have not mastered it yet, I need to work out on my landing which became a hard landing and i can't land softly. After school ends I wonder if anyone is going to keep blogging. At some point ill check my blog to see if anyone did.

The Rules of Love?
The rules that dictate the behavior of young men and women in relationships today could be their shyness. People now are probably scared or nervous to ask the person they like to be their boyfriend or girlfriend. If a guy is interested in a girl at school, he would most likely want to know her better. They would probably ask him/her to have lunch or hang out with them to get a sense how their personality is like. If a guy thinks the girl is cool to be with they would get to know their best friend so he could get more information on his lover. Some things I have heard from other people is that most of the time guys ask the girls out. How come the a lot of girls do not ask the guys out? Is it because the guys are suppose to be gentleman's all the time?
Some rules come from your parents or from TV shows. I have seen in TV shows that when a couple are on a date the guy pays for the first date. That is nice for the guys to do that which they should for their first date. When my family and I go out to eat at a restaurant my dad pays the bill but my mom always want to pay for the bill because he pays all the time. Some times girls should pay for dinner if they keep seeing the same guy.
If the rules are broken in a relationship like cheating it would be bad. It shows that the guy is probably tried of the girl and wants to know other girls then his lover. When there is young relationships in high school it might lead into sex. Girls could get pregnant if they have unprotected sex.

Maximum Ride 2
"The picture was of baby Gasman, with his telltale cowlick, being held by a women who looked kind of tired and washed out. The camera was focused on a wooden table, then a slip of paper lying on the table. It was a check. The name it was made out to was obliterated. The check was from Itex, for $10,000. His mother had sold him for $10,000 to the whitecoats at the school."(pg 147-148)
Reading the other books Max keeps finding pictures of themselves when they were younger. Where does she keep finding these pictures but not fang and herself. In the first book when they went to the institute, they found files on the flocks. Iggy tried to find his mom from the address but Ari was there. When she found more pictures in this book she must have kept the files with her maybe? Gasman must been happy to see his baby picture with his mom but she was under stress. When I read about the check for $10,000 I was surprised that Gazzy's mother sold him to the scientist at the school. That is messed up selling your own child to people you do not even know. But for $10,000 is a lot and she was stressed out so she probably had to take the offer and take a break from working. This makes me think if the flocks parents also had this kind of offer to them because they figured out that their parents gave them up to the whitecoats. If that happened to me I probably wound not take that offer and keep my child.
"Thanks, Max," Ari said when he was within earshot."You won't regret this, I promise. I'm going to keep you safe." (pg 162)

I had my judo tournament on April 18. The tournament was taken place at Alameda High School in the new gym. This was my first judo tournament I have been to and I could of went to the earlier tournaments but I did not want to. Instead I waited near the end of the school year for my judo tournament and we were required to go to at least one tournament. Usually I am nervous on my martial arts tournament. On my other Vietnamese tournament I got owned from sparing and this one I try to stay com and confident.
A few days before on a Friday after school both classes helped set up the tournament for Sunday and we got community service for. It became really tiring became we had to bring judo mats from the dojo to the table area where the back entrance to kofemen was. Each mat was probably about 15 pounds. In the dojo we took some of the mats out and it was so dusty underneath the mats. I had a lot of dust attracted to me while I was loading the truck. This process took about two hours including 5th and 6th period to transport the mats to the new gym. It took awhile to unload the mats off the truck. Then we set up the gym with four running mats while took awhile. After we were setting up the new gym the worse part was bringing out the 4 wheel dollys and back to the dojo. It took four people to bring out the 600 pound dolly out the door and down the stairs to the dojo.
The day of the tournament came. We had to come early at 7:30am to help. We paid for our entry and weight-in. Some people helped label the medals saying "PROF. JAY ALOHA INVITATIONAL JUDO TOURNAMENT". Our matches was going to take awhile and the tournament starts at 10:30am. We had to help the judges keep track of scores and pooling which is pairing up people in the same weight division in groups of 5. The beginning of the tournament was the little kids, teens, and the black belt division. I helped keep score for a few hours and chill with my sister.
Finally our tournament started to come at around 1pm. I waited with my friend Amir and we found out we were in the same pool. Which means i get to go against my friend. We were lucky to be in a pool with four people because it is faster and a better chance of wining a medal. I went against everyone in my pool and my first match was against Amir. I tried my best and stay com. The match started and I waited for him to grab me and as soon as he grabbed me I went for a throw but he tried to counter me. he almost got me and i fell on my butt but it didn't count. The opponet has to get the play on their back to win. The reff stopped us and start back in the middle. I grabbed him and tried to do a left sided throw to get him off guard but I did half of it and still got him on the ground. As he was on the ground I tried to choke him but the reff stopped us again. The third time I tried my throw again and I got him on his back and I won. My second match was against a yellow belt that i just found out after our match. I lost fast to this guy because he had more experience than me. So I did the first move with a foward throw but he countered me. My third match was really quick and it took about 10 seconds to win this one. I was against a talls person and before my matches I was examing his moves when he went up. I notice his legs were weak and off balance most of the time. When I went against this guy I tested out a small sweep and I got him off balance already so I went for a back sweep and got him down. I won 2/3 matches and got 2nd place. When the tournament ended we repeat what we did on Friday but backwards taking the mats back to the dojo.

Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports
The book I am read Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson. Max had escape from the Itex from the scientist who are trying yo kill her. In the beginning they went to see a sports game and later on they are being noticed by the humans and they saw them in the newspaper. So they had to get out of the place befor the erasers try to get them.
"Football game", said Fang. What? Iggy asked, his face brightening. "Football game tonight, Texas Stadium". Fang snapped the laptop shut and stood. "I think we should go".(pg20)
When I read to this part of the book I was thinking what if they get caught when the erasers sees them on TV? Max thought he was nuts because they need to get out of site of people especial at a foot ball game. It would be a night mare if they went down there surrounded by thousands of people and cameras. It would be risky to go down there but they went anyways. The stadium was an open sky and it was the Cowboys vs the Chicago Bears. As I was reading I thought they were going to watch the game at the top of the stadium to be safe. Later on They were sitting with other people and some people started to notice they were those bird kids. They spotted erasers coming towards them and they had to get out.
It wasn't as through they had saved my life or anything Ella and Dr. Martinez. It was worse: They had shown me what a life could be like in Normal Land. It haunted me ever since I'd left them.(pg68)
I was a bit surprised when Max and Fang arrived back to Ella's house because in the first book she had to leave her for Angel. She didn't want to return and now she came back again along with Fang. It would been a good idea to return because Max showed Dr. Martinez her wounded arm and scan an x-ray and found a chip in her arm. Dr. Martinez found a way to take it out with out damaging her nerves.

Birthday Party at D&B
On Wednesday May 5th was my birthday and also cinco de mayo. What happened on my birthday I planed to go to Dave and Busters to celebrate with my family and friends. Who were Adam, Nathan, Keelan, Micheal, and John. We left after school to Dave and Busters at San Jose in Great Mall. When we got there we entered Dave and Busters. They had a eat and play combo game deal for $15.99 along with a 10 dollar game card. Most of use were hungry yet so we went to the mall to waste some time.
We went in the mall and my mom bought something then my sister wanted to buy something. We walked in a full circle back to Dave and Busters until we were hungry. As we were browsing threw the mall a couple of girls came by who were about 12 or 13 years old. Five minutes later we saw them again and they said hi and some of us said hi back. We were about half way to Dave And Busters and they started to follow us. They would walk ahead of us and wait until we got there. We went back into Dave and Busters which became our safe area from those girls.
we went to go eat first and also receive our 10 dollar game card. Our waiter named Derick told our orders and I got the double cheese burger which was delicious. John yelled out thank you Derick using his name. I started saying that also, then John said thanks Derick your the best. I started laughing. Derick was a cool guy. When Derick gave us our order my friends and I said thank you Derick. As we were eating there was a special birthday announcement on our left. I was like were is my birthday song as they announced it. About ten minutes later on our right side there was another birthday announcement happening again. We were done eating *cough except for Adam* and I had to go to the restroom. I didn't know where it was so Adam came along with me. After we came back the whole table was smiling and I know something was going on. As I sat down I see Derick holding a big cup of ice cream. I started to notice it would probably be mine and Derick came up to me and gave me my ice cream. He announced another birthday and sang a song. I wanted to take a picture with Derick for fun and as he came by my sister said if we could get a picture. He started to laugh and whispered " This is fucking weird man". As we left to play games Adam left a message saying Hey Derick, if you are reading this what the fuck, from those guys.
We went back out to the walk way to see if Derick would see our little message but another person was cleaning up the table. We went to go play in the arcade room with our game card. There was a virtual jump rope game and as it went in a circle it went faster but I was ne away from the jack pot of 300 tickets. I went to go play some shooting games with my sister. We went to go find the others and Adam and Keelan were addicted to this one game where you insert a coin and make other coins fall for tickets. My sister Nathan and I went to go back to the jump rope and I got addicted to that for a few games. Nathan was playing deal or no deal which he sucked at guessing and he end up with 12 and 4 tickets. I tried it and did good on the couple of picking out the case buy at the end I got 12 tickets. We went to play a few games of Need for Speed. We were about to go so all of us headed to the prize room. We had fun and went home.

In this novel Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever by James Patterson is about six mutant kids who tries to find out about their parents better at Washington DC. As they headed to Washington DC they get attack by new versions of erasers and one of the member of the flocks get attacked by Ari who is Jeb's only son. FBI agents come to the hospital to question them and one of the agents wants them to stay at her house to make sure they are safe. They are sent to school and they escape far away from the erasers. Max and the flocks are headed to Florida to the Itex to destroy their cooperation.
James Patterson is the bestselling author of his writing career and the Time magazine feature called him, "The Man Who Can't Miss." He also wrote about thriller, nonfiction, and romance novels. In the North America by itself he had sold over 16 million books. A few years ago, James Patterson sold more books than all of the other authors and the books that he sold all together was about 170 million copies in worldwide. With all that copies being sold, he must be wealthy. He is the very first author to receive the number 1 brand new titles simultaneously on The New York Times on books for adults and children. James Patterson is the number 1 best selling authors in the New York Times and holds the Guinness World Record for selling 46 most Hardcover Fiction titles. As a writer he did not have any reflection on his true life for this book.
The character who interested me in the second series of Maximum Ride is Agent Anne. She intelligent and nice. She works with the F.B.I. What seems suspicious about this character is that she kinda came out of nowhere. In the part when Fang had to go to the hospital because of Ari. Three F.B.I. agents appeared to the hospital to question the flocks. They all had to lie about their names and they were related. Max told them they were adopted and their parents are missionaries. The agents bring them to a private room to question them one on one. Agent Anne questions Max and held up a picture of Jeb. Max felt the betrayal from the picture of him. She showed a picture of an eraser and asked her if she ever saw one. Max pretends that she has not seen one in her life and describing how ugly it is. And how did she get those pictures of them. As Fang recovers from his injuries, Anne makes a nice offer to the flocks if they want to stay at her house. Since they had nowhere to go they took her offer. Anne would have to take care of six children and letting them stay in her barn house. Anne does a lot of work to take care of them and they can eat more than an average person can eat. Anne has to cook a lot of food or spend a lot of money on them. Anne takes good care of them and Max feels like Anne is her mom. Later she thinks she can trust Anne because she works for the FBI and can not be an eraser. Max tells her some information like at least that the flocks can fly. They were mutants with 98% human and 2% birds. She tells her that their parents are not missionaries. Later on Anne wants them to go to school. Some teachers were erasers and they bust out off school and try to tracked down the flocks. They head over to Anne's house to get supplies and it turns out that Anne is working with Jeb. I find that disappointing that Anne betrayed the flocks like that and I thought Anne was out to help them.
My favorite part in the book was when the flocks were being ambushed with lots of action. I was surprised how the enemy characters changed from the first series in Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. In the setting as Max and her flocks are headed to Washington D.C. and they took a break from flying. As they continued their journey walking, Max randomly does a 360 she sees a dark cloud coming towards them. The flocks thought a storm is coming, erasers in a chopper, or birds. As it came closer it turns out they were erasers with wings! Also their leader of the erasers, Ari, he came back from the living dead. It could probably be Jeb and the other scientists who helped brought Ari backed to life along with the erasers being mobile in air. The scientists made the DNA transfer quickly to the erasers to make them fly. When the erasers were about to attack, Max ordered the flocks to split up in positions to get ready to fight. Max was feeling the adrenaline then she launched her foot at the biggest eraser to his chest. It was a bit weird when Fang clapped his hands against an eraser's ear making him scream and made him lose control in the air. Max and her flocks were kicking butt and the erasers just kept coming after them. Ari came lunging at Fang and manage to slice his jacket. The erasers started to retreat and it was Ari against the flocks. The flocks regrouped and Ari seemed a bit happy to see them again because he wants to keep beating them up. Ari left with his gang saying " We'll be back!" As they left the flocks waited a moment to see if there was going to be another attack but it was clear. Max notice Fang's critical hit from Ari. Max needed to get an ambulance quick and she had to risk choosing Fang's life or avoid strangers. If she did that, then Fang would die.

Maximum Ride # 3
At the school, the flocks had an assembly but they were not there. They started to wonder around the school but the principle caught them. The principle started to turn into a eraser so the flocks split up to lose the eraser. As they met up again they took off in the air away from the school. They needed to head over to Anne's house to get some supplies. Max already hid some back up supplies a few days ago. Angel wanted to go back to Anne's house which is not a good idea but Total was there. Angel found Total in the yard and she flew to get him. When she got him the flocks sees a car pull up in the drive way. It was Jeb, Ari, Anne, and the other teachers. They were all working together after the flocks.
They flew away towards the beach after a second battle between Fang and Ari. Ari is the only child that Jeb seems to care for and Ari wants to be with max. Max is twice his age.When the flock are on the run again and always being located by the Erasers which is possibly a via chip implanted into Max. They try to find the corporation who planted the chip in Max Located in Florida called Itex that Angel recalls the scientists discussing when she was captured by them. Max is captured by their eraser and a Max-clone is left in her place. She is held captive at Itex as a subjected to an isolation tank. The flocks which they don't know that Max is Max is lead by the Max-clone into Itex. They try to discover what they can about the flocks parentage and Max's Voice's telling her to save the world but they lead into a trap where all the members of the flock are to be terminated. Spring Break Snowboarding
Starting of my spring break on a Sunday was my last day of winter to go snowboarding with my sister. We decided to try out Yosemite's ski resorts which I been to once with my friend Adam. But my sister found another ski resort that would save us an hour of time to snowboard at Dodge Ridge ski resort located in a small town called Pinecrest. Before our trip we went to San Fransisco to rent my snowboard at the Sports Basement. This place was actually big and it had three floors with sports equipment. My snowboard rentals were cheap that only cost me $15 for my snow boots and my snowboard. They had some other cheap snow clothing that was around ten dollars off than the original prices.
My sister called the ski resort to check if they had more snow built up over the night. No one picked up and it went to the voice message. It said Fridays snow went up by five inches of snow overnight and the morning was 27 degrees. We were on our way to Pinecrest. It took about two and a half hour to get there. We were an hour away from Yosemite. When we got there we just notice it was Easter Day when we saw the Easter bunny walking around. My sister went to go pick up our lift tickets and we were headed to our first run.
When we started to go on the ski lift it was dangerous for people who never went to this ski resort because the ski lifts were too fast even tho they slowed it down for you. The ski lifts were two seated but in the middle there was a pole in the way when you sit. Right when you sit on it you really don't expect the seat to go back and forth like a swing.When my sister and i got on the ski lift it was all bad. Right when I sat down the seat tilted backwards that almost made me fell like three feet of the ground. Then I looked next to me to see if my sister was okay but she wasn't next to me. I looked back and she fell right before she sat down. That was why I almost fell off also. That part kind of ruined our day and they need to up grade their lifts. We just continued our snowboarding day. We went on a intermediate run and it was fun. We went up on the same one and while we were the lift we saw some snow ramps at the side. We wanted to try it and it actually wasn't scary at all. After that we started to go to the left of the mountain where there was the steeper slopes. When we got to the top it started to snow a little bit so I had to go back down to see if they had snow goggle on sale because it was their last day until they closed. I wanted to look around to see if they had cheap snow goggles. The cheapest they had was $44.99 which is a good deal. Regular snow goggles are worth $70-$120 for good ones. We went back up to the top. We went on a advanced slope that was steep and we went for it. It was really fun and I wanted to go again. As we went again I was right be hide my sister and we were going in a zig zag. Good thing I bought snow goggles because I started to go straight and my sister went to the right. A few seconds later I hit her snowboard and fell down head first on a really steep slope. And I slid down about 40ft and it was hard for me to stop. I had a lot of snow in my face and i went down about half the steep slope.
An hour later the weather started to get bad. It was freezing cold and winding. It was 30 degrees cold. So we went started to go home about an hour early due to the weather. I was surprised it was still snowing during April.

Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever
In our new book Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever by James Patterson. The flocks who are ages six to fourteen, are fleeing the lunatic scientists that created them. They experience a brief respite from the Erasers, human-wolf recombinant that are like the scientists' hit-men and they can command the eraser what to do. The flocks were on there way to Washington D.C., and they notice a big dark looking cloud coming towards them and as it came closer it turns out they were eraser with wings. It turns out the chief eraser Ari is back. From the first series Max had killed Ari in a battle and he was completely dead,now he is a live. The flocks and the erasers start to battle. Everyone is beating up each other and after one of the two oldest children is badly beaten up by Ari. Fourteen year old Fang had been cut when Ari attacked him and he had to get to the hospital. Max did not want to be in contacted with the humans because they could be erasers and Max had to risk Fang's life or get involved with more erasers. When Fang arrived to the hospital he was losing lots of blood so Max donated blood to Fang. As Fang was resting some FBI agents came to the flocks to ask them some questions. There were three of them who were asking the flocks questions and they lied about their names and that they were brother and sisters.
One of the agent, Anne, offers the flocks to stay at her house since they have no where else to stay. In Anne's home the flock; leader Max, second in command Fang, blind Iggy, Nudge, and six year old Gasman and Angel experience normalcy for almost the first time in their lives. In the country setting the flocks even uncover certain heretofore unknown abilities. All six children can fly but during their stay with the FBI agent Angel discovers she can talk to fish and further develops her ability to read minds and exercise mind control over others. A dog the flocks picked up at one of the underground genetic engineering labs is discovered to be able to talk. As they were staying at Anne's house she wants them to start school. Max and Fang both have love interest and they are both getting jealous of one another, the chapter, Fang falls for Max and she doesn't show any interests like not having a date or a talk. When the flocks are attending at school, seems like it could not get better except for a school principal who seems to have it in for the children and glimpses of Erasers in the local town. While the Gasman and Iggy are looking around in the school basement. They find all of these files that were about how the school got closed down a long time ago. A teacher comes down and tries to kill them. Iggy's specialty is creating bombs so he makes a bomb quickly and lets it set off. Later it turns out that Agent Anne is actually an eraser. She was one of the scientist working with Jeb and the others to track down the flocks. Anne was even nice enough to offer the flocks to stay at her home but she had to betray them. Anne actually got Max to give her some information about whats going on with the flocks. When I was wondering when I read the part when the FBI agents came to question them, how did they know where they were? She literally has a Voice inside her head that alternately councils and frustrates her, telling her that she must ‘save the world'.
One of the agent, Anne, offers the flocks to stay at her house since they have no where else to stay. In Anne's home the flock; leader Max, second in command Fang, blind Iggy, Nudge, and six year old Gasman and Angel experience normalcy for almost the first time in their lives. In the country setting the flocks even uncover certain heretofore unknown abilities. All six children can fly but during their stay with the FBI agent Angel discovers she can talk to fish and further develops her ability to read minds and exercise mind control over others. A dog the flocks picked up at one of the underground genetic engineering labs is discovered to be able to talk. As they were staying at Anne's house she wants them to start school. Max and Fang both have love interest and they are both getting jealous of one another, the chapter, Fang falls for Max and she doesn't show any interests like not having a date or a talk. Statement of Purpose #3
Fourth quarter has already started with only more than two months left and it is almost summer. Every year it seems like the year is just passing by quickly. For the first semester, using writers block must been easy for everyone to write up 300 words. I was getting use to it but now we have to write up to 500 words for blogs every week. Over the third quarter I was able to extend my writing because i feel forced to write 500 words to get a grade. My grammar and vocabulary is still the same. Since, we are doing lit circle reading it helped me a little to write more from our letter groups.
For my blog topics ill probably still continue what I am writing like things that interests me and what I do in life. In the past couple of weeks I been running out of ideas to blog about so I try to remember what I did in my past life or write about something I am planning to do in the future. I try to think about a topic to blog about and be done with it so I don't have to worry about it until next week. But when I do my blog I always end up posting my blog at the last minute. Every Friday I would probably start doing my blog at like nine o'clock. I don't post my blog often before Friday and it is probably because I am lazy and tired. School is stressful sometimes with all the homework I have to do and it would take about two hours to finish it. Sometimes it would take me about four and a half hour to finish my homework when I fall a sleep for like two hours. For writing I need to proof read my blogs which I haven't been doing lately and expand my vocabulary.
For next years goal I just want to keep my grade higher than a C. Third quarter I been doing good maintaining four A's but two C's. For the rest of fourth quarter be higher than a C and for the same thing for my junior year. Ill will be taking Spanish 3 which probably be a little hard for me because I didn't really learn much this year in Spanish 2. I am still in the process of learning some as we go but not all. Algebra 2 ill be taking for math and I don't think I would have a problem with math as long as I am paying attention. US History would probably be boring but some of the topics are interesting. Physiology I will be taking for science and it seems fun to learn about the human body and how the body system functions each part. I hope i get in because Mr. Wilson is teaching it and a lot of people would probably sign up for that class. English 3 might be hard because we won't be working with writer's block and be dealing with a lot of essays and vocabulary workbooks. My last class I will be taking is current life and ethnic studies.

Monthly Review
8. Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth.
The character that interests me the most in my book, Maximum Ride is Max. Max is a fourteen year old girl who is intelligent, strong, and caring. Max is the oldest in her family of six. She lives with Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel. They call themselves the flocks. They were being experimented when they were born and they turned into mutants with wings. The flocks had escaped from the scientists lab with one of the scientist Jeb. He brought them to the hills where there is a house for them to live in. He raised them as his own kids and taught them how to fly, learn how to behave, and defend themselves when they being attacked. The flocks loved Jeb especially Max, but four years later he disappeared. Max has to take care of her family and make sure they are safe. He would do anything to make sure they aren't in danger. When they escaped the lab erasers were after them which are half human and half wolf mutants. They have to be aware that the erasers will come and it's been four years they haven't hunt them down yet. Later, some erasers found them and the flocks were ambushed. The flocks tried to battle them off but there were too many of them. Max tries to fight for her life to keep the flocks safe, but the erasers took Angel, the youngest in the family. Max blames herself because she was responsible for her family. Max makes a plan to rescue Angel with the flocks. They went off flying towards the scientist lab held in a school. As they were flying Max sees a girl in trouble and she knows that she needs to save Angel before the scientist will start experimenting on her again. Max decides to make the others wait for while she goes to save the girl. When max is down there she beats up the guys and she got shot by one of them. Max was brave enough to protect this girl. The girl, Ella, thanks Max for saving her and Ella wanted Max to come over to her house so Her mom can help her with her wounded shot. After Max feels better she continues with the flocks on their mission to save Angel from the horrible scientists trying to collect DNA from Angel to make more experiments.
2. For what audience(s) is this book intended, and how can you tell? (In other words, for whom would you recommend this book?)
The audience for this kind of book should be a level for twelve or thirteen years old and up. This book has action and adventure. The kind of book people who like to read books that similar to this one and should start reading Maximum Ride. Some people don't like to read like me and it could be boring. In my opinion, reading can be fun when you are into the book or you want to read the topics that interest your. I would say this book is a good starter for people who enjoy reading and should continue the series. As you read more and more about the story you just want to continue to see what will happen next. This would help younger kids read better with at the images that pop up into their heads while they read. They have good imagination and it would help them understand what's going on in the book. The book involves a lot of flying parts and some fighting scenes. There is actually a lot of fighting scene with the erasers after the flocks. In some parts of the book takes a while to get to the point like when Max got shot and she went Ella's house to get help from her mom. It took about 23 chapters (the chapters are short)until she started to continue her mission. There was another one were it took the flocks about two chapters from California to New York. I find that weird and interesting when the author wrote it that way. If you a friend who likes to read these kind of books tell him or her to read Maximum Ride. I would recommend this book and feel free to check it out.

Why did I choose this book Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment? When we were assign to pick a book and reading partners who are Bobby, Brandon, and me. We went to the library to pick out a book. I was browsing around for books until Bobby suggests we should read the book Maximum Ride because he said it was a good book. I went to go take a look at the book and read the summary. I thought it was an interesting book to read and it's good to try out new variety book. Since I am not a reading kind of person it would be good for me to try out this book. When I first started to read this book the beginning caught my attention with some intense action while adding images in my mind. When I was reading, I found out that Maximum Ride is a girl and I thought it was a boy. It was interesting when I read the part where Max and Jeb were talking. Max could choose any name for herself. I was wondering why her name was Maximum and that was when I did not know she was a girl in the beginning of the book. Throughout the book it's awesome the character has some cool powers with their mutation especially Angel. They can all fly and they have like triple the size of a normal human's stomach so they could eat a lot. I would like to have wings to fly where ever I want to go and a huge stomach to feast off of delicious food. Angel is a tough six year old girl. She can read people's minds and talk to them. Later in the book, she discovered a new ability that she could breath underwater when the flocks went to the beach. Since, I have finish reading my book I think this was a good book.

Last Letter of Maximum Ride
Now I reached the ending of the my book. So far Max and the flocks are in New York City to find the Institute. They were wondering in the city and they found a toy store that they had never been to in their lives. Angel found a teddy bear that she wanted. Angel asked Max if she could get the bear, but Max said no because it was too expensive. Angel went up to a random lady and told her to buy the bear for her in her mind and she did. They head over to a restaurant to get some food. The waiter guy takes their order but he starts to be rude because the flocks were ordering a lot of food. He thought they wouldn't be able to pay for all of it but Max was able to pay for all of it. He calls the cops. When the cops arrived two of them were erasers and the flocks tried to escape. Angel drops her teddy bear and she wanted it back badly but she couldn't. They went to set for camp to spend the night.
The next morning they went to the beach to play and Angel wanted to swim. Angel finds out that she could breath under water when she was swallowed the sea water. Later, Ari comes tracking them down at the beach. Ari was holding Angel's bear and she tried to get it back from him. The flocks and the erasers started to fight. Max and Ari were fighting and they go threw a tunnel while Max was chasing after Ari. They went up in the sky fighting and as they were going down Max was holding onto his head. When they went down she heard Ari's neck snapped on the tunnel. She didn't think she could of killed him and she killed Jeb's son. They just went flying to get far away from them. Later they found the Institute where there was information about them. They looked up their name and found information about who their parents were. They were so happy but there was no information for Max and Iggy.

What Do You Want To Do B4 You Die?
What do you want to do before you die? Some of you guys might be familiar with the TV series The Buried Life. These four guys who been friends for a long time made a list with 100 things they want to do before they die. In their show they try to achieve one of their goals from their list and they also help a random person on the street to accomplish what they want to do before they die. They travel in their purple bus around countries and states. They have one question, four guys, and 100 things to do before you die.
On my number one list I want to do before I die is to stay at a ski resort and snowboard for at least one month or the whole winter season with my sister. She would love to do this with me. It would be fun to do this in the future only if we had a lot of money. I would enjoy that moment of my life to stay there for that long at a ski resort. Even though I have gone a few times and now at least once a year. It would be a good work out for our legs snowboarding everyday and even try snowboarding at night to make it more intense. Hopefully I don't hurt especially breaking any of my bones in the cold which I have never broken any before.
My sister said you could rent a cabin that looks like a regular house for about four days that cost around 450 dollars. Last time she had done it for 250 dollars staying for two or three days. She and her friends got a good deal because one of her friend’s dads owns the house. It would be awesome to rent one of those cabins and there is a maid to clean up when you’re gone. I have a lot of time to practice snowboarding and try to learn how to snowboard on my toes. We could go explore around the area and play in the soft snow that would be nice. I would try to go down one of the advance trail to see how it is like. I am only an intermediate. I want to get better at snowboarding and practicing getting off the lift ski because I start to lose balance. Only a few times I get off without falling. I need to work on my steering and when I turn I slow down a lot, work on my speed, and try some tricks starting off with a jump.
In the snow I'd like to ride on a snow mobile through the forest with my family. I think it is about 90 dollars to rent a snow mobile for the whole day, that's not bad. If the buried life guys came up to me and ask what do I want to do before I die I would tell them about my snowboarding trip for a month or more. I wonder if they would actually do it for me and in their show when they ask someone they join them. Will they join me? That is what I want to do before I die.

Maximum Ride part 2
So far in the second part of the book, Max had left Ella's house and found out she had a chip in her body. She went to go meet up with Fang and Nudge in Arizona. By the time she arrive there the Gasman and Iggy was with Fang and Nudge. The Gasman and Iggy was supposed to stay at the house but the Erasers came. They try to fight them off but they could not defeat them all and they flew over to Fang and Nudge. The five of them went to continue their mission to save Angel at the school where the scientist are keeping her. As they were heading over to Angel, the five of them had to take a break and they stole some guys credit card. Max tried to hack the ATM to gain access for money and she typed in the four digit code. It did not work so Iggy tried to guess the code and he access into the ATM. Max deposit $200.
They all went to the forest to spend the night. They woke up and headed to the school to save Angel. When they got to the school they busted out Angel and flew high up into the sky so the Erasers can not track them down. They went to the hill side to rest and Angel looking a mess. Angel knew some information about the Institute that she over heard the scientist talking. There was information files about them that was located somewhere in New York. They wanted to know where this Institute was and they flew to New York. When they arrive there they saw a night concert and Nudge wanted to go. New York was a busy city and if an Eraser spots them they could lose them easily. They went to the library to use the computers to find out where the Institute was located. Karate
The World of Martial Arts Karate is my recent book I have read by Jim Ollhoff. A term for all fighting styles is called Martial Arts. There many different fighting styles for Martial Arts and the most popular one is karate. Karate means "empty hand". People who practice karate for a long time over the years are known as karatekas. Karate started about 400 years ago on Okinawa, in the Pacific Ocean of the largest island on Ryukyu chain of islands. The most common styles are shorin-ryu karate, gojo-ryu karate, kenpo karate, and shotokan karate. There is no organization that controls any karate associations. The word that describes karate is power and known for their speed. Karatekas have powerful kicks and punches with their wide stances that help them strike with power. They also practice breaking wooden boards or blocked cements to improve their one-punch knockouts.
The history of karate is hard to know its full story because there many legends about the beginning of karate but few facts. For hundreds of years, karate was to remain a secret because a master taught a few students. They couldn’t practice in public or share any of their techniques they had learned in karate. In the 1800s, the secrecy began to lift at an end, but a lot of the history’s knowledge was lost. In 1904,the secrecy lifted completely, when karate was open to the public schools being taught in Okinawa’s. Legends had sprung up about the lack of knowledge and the origins of karate because sometimes it is difficult to know which legends are right or wrong.
The most often-told legend for karate in Okinawa was the Japanese invading Okinawa in 1609. The legend says that the Japanese forbade anyone who owns a weapon and whoever gets caught was punished. The Okinawans had to learn how to defend themselves with their bare hands and feet. The Okinawan farmers had no weapons; they had to use their farming tools to defend themselves like a seed planter called the sai. The Okinawans already had a primitive martial art called te which means hand. The Okinawan te masters and Chinese kung fu maters combined their skills making a new martial arts called kara-te.
The idea of peace-loving Okinawans learning how to use farming tools has a weapon. The Okinawans were not the first people to invent these kinds of weapons and the Chinese also had been using these types of weapons for hundreds of years. By the late 1800s, karate has become an effective well developed way of fighting styles. During and after the World War II, many U.S. servicemen lived and worked in Okinawan. The servicemen also learned karate while they were there. 1946, in the United States, the first karate school was opened in Phoenix, Arizona, by Robert Trias. By the 1960s, the U.S. karate tournaments became popular even in movies.
All different types of martial arts are being taught all around the world. I never knew karate means empty hand and I wonder what it means. Karate came from the Okinawan te masters and the Chinese kung fu masters who blended their skills together making a new kind of martial arts. I was surprised to the legends about Japanese were forbidden to own any weapons and could not own a sword. They would get punished if they were seen with a weapon. The Okinawans had to defend themselves with karate and back then they must be lucky to learn karate. It was probably difficult to learn all these new different skills for a while but it takes practice to succeed over the years.
It is interesting that there is not an organization for these karate schools and I did not know that any high black belt degree can open their own school or a small class to teach people. I take martial arts and I have notice that my uncle opened his own small class in his garage. All martial arts involve power and good stances. Almost all of the martial arts are similar or have similar techniques to each other.
