An adventure on the island. Today we (Adam R., Nathan T., Nathan Tr., and me) had an adventure on Alameda/Bay farm island bike riding! Starting from the morning, I woke up, went to brush my teeth ect. and ate. Later I got bored so I called Nathan T if he wanted to go bike riding and the others and they wanted to go. I got ready to meet up with them at the main island. I was heading over to the garage to get my bike but it was flat so I checked the other bikes and they were all flat. I got the bike pump (borrowed from Adam) to inflate my bike but something was wrong. Each time I put the air hole pump in the air tube it keeps popping out when I pump it. It kept pissing me off when I tried to pump the dam bike and I thought the pump was the problem. My bike was the problem because the air tube kept going in the tire but I already knew that. I pump my mom's bike and it worked fine.
I took a while pumping my bike so my friends wanted me to meet them at bike bridge and I was on my way. When I was close the bike bridge there was so many bumps on the walk way and I was riding with no hands for fun. Out of no where I hit those bumps and almost fell. I saw them at the bike bridge (see Nathan T fall he was okay). We followed the bike trail along the water. Adam was thirsty and later we found a water fountain. We took a break and there was a tower to climb up and we were playing around on it. We went to the streets and found a path next to the lagoon and there are a lot of random parks. But it turns out we were there before and looked around some more.
Later we found a park ahead of us and we been there before and it was the fun park close to the Bay Farm School. We played sandman on the small play structure and it was fun. Later we went to the better play structure next to the one we're at. We were just messing around and swinging on the swing. There was a tire swing and all four of us tried to balance the tire and we did it for like 20 seconds. Someone ends up falling and the last one we balanced on the tire swing both of the Nathan’s fell kind of bad because Nathan T had to turn the opposite way and made me tilt the tire but it was fun. After that we went some where else and ended up at the same spot where the view tower was.

Getting Money
How do you earn money? Do you ask your parents for cash? Well, sometimes I ask for money when it's for school stuff. The way I earn money is by working for it from my job at the Free Market near Laney College 's parking lot every Sunday.
My dad owns table's so people can rent them. There are six groups of people of two working and I work with my brother. My brother and I head over to the Free Market around 3:45 pm to collect the tables (you might see me in a red or blue truck if you go) that my dad let people rent. Some of the workers use the flat bed cart to stack tables and load the tables onto the truck and make a small stack on the ground when the truck is full. My brother and I use the pick up truck to load tables to make it faster and easier. We head over to the self storage close by to unload the tables onto a pallet with four stacks in two storage's. There's another group with a pick up truck doing the same thing as us. That's a lot of tables and including three stacks on the big truck and six on the other truck. We have to hurry because the owner or the person in charge of the Free Market is very strict and people need to clean up the parking lot but some people who are selling are slow cleaning up. We check the parking lot for tables and my dad parks the two truck.
Working at the Free Market isn't that bad and it's pretty easy to me. My brother and I get paid every two work days. I get 70 dollars for the two weeks, not bad for my age I guess. But the only time I hate about working is in the Spring or Summer because it's HOT working in the sun for two half hours straight and I get a little tired. Another time when it rains on Sunday = [ because people don't sell and don't want our tables to get wet and I miss 35 dollars that day. The last few weeks I got lucky because it started to rain on Monday and being close missing another 70 dollars.

Best Random Moments
Where to start...Oh, when it was 7th grade during the finals or the state testing. We had our 30 minute break time and hanging out with my friends. One of them was talking about the long jump test thing we did in PE. He asked me if I could jump over a person while they are sitting down, so one of them sat down and I jumped over him. I was like wow that was easy and two other of my friends sat down in a row (3 people). Some people came and watched to see what was going on then I made it over them. It was still easy so two other people I knew joined the sitting line. I made it over, thinking it wasn't that bad of a jump then people were interested and became a semi circle of crowd people. Now it's 7 people sitting in a line, went for it and made it. One person came joining the line being the 8th person then a 9th person and made it. Now it's at the 10th person and I was nervous. I went for it but I messed up. I needed the line to move down farther for more running room, so I went for it and barely made it almost stepping on my friends face. I jumped about 9ft, I was surprised I made it and a random person gave me a dollar.
I was on vacation in Las Vegas with my family. We went to Circus Circus to the game prize room and my parents went to go gamble and I was with my older brother and sister. I saw a person with a big basketball prize that was the exercise ball and I wanted it. We went to go look for a game that had those prizes. I found one with the baseball in the old milk jug toss in but it was hard. Each ball throw was cost a dollar so I went for it and missed all 7 shots. The last throw looked like it went in but it didn't and I was sad. We went to look for a better game with the same prize. There was a ring toss in the coke bottle. I took 25 rings for like $3 and it was in a cup so I just dumped all at once and missed at of them, haha. I went back to the milk jug and spent another $5 and still missed. =( I found an easier game with the prize with the beach ball on top of the fan making the ball move up and down. This game looked easy to play costing $1 per bag sacks. My parents came and found us and my mom helped my out with $5 to start with. On my first shot I got so lucky. I hit the ball I was aiming for and I hit the side of it and knocked the ball on the left. I was so happy I won a big ball but it suck the 4 extra sack bags I couldn’t throw the rest because it was one winner per prize. My family got one throw each and missed but it would have been cool to have more than one ball. Was it worth paying $20 bucks for a big ball? Yes, it was worth it.

My Accidents (Part 2)
Now Part 2 of My Accidents continues. This third accident was dumber but I was young, didn't know any better. I was 7 years old at the time in a park. It was on a weekend when I went with my mom to her friend's house to go baby sit her 4 year old daughter. My mom baby sits her and helps clean up the house. Sometimes we go to the park a few blocks away from the house. I wanted to go to the park but this time we went to a different park. My mom's friend and her other daughter went to go have swimming practice or swimming lessons so we went along with them. But we didn't go swimming and we found a park that was beside the pool down a hill. We were just chillin at the park and having lunch at the table. When I was done eating I wondered off towards a gate fence to see what’s over the other side of the fence and I look down and see the pool. Beside me there was about a 10 pound big rock that was a size of a bowl. For some reason I wanted the rock to end up in the pool and see it roll down the hill if the rock would go in the pool. I picked up the rock and try to throw over the fence but it bounced off the top. When I saw it hit the tip the rock hit my head on the left side. I went to my mom and she put me laying on the table. She called the ambulance and I passed out, I didn’t remember anything. My mom thought I was rolling down the hill and a glass cut my head. This time I don’t have a scar.
This accident happened when I was 12 years old outside of the teen center right across the street from the foreign language building. My friends and I were in the front of the Memorial building hanging outside. My friend Adam (2nd period) and I made up a random game. It was us two playing the game and was about spinning in circles to see how long you could last or until you fall or give up. The first round started by both of us starting at the same time and I fell so I lost. The second round started and while I was spinning all the colors looked cool so I took out my phone to record it and I started to lose balance when I took out my phone. Right when I opened my phone I hit my right side of my head on the second step. When I hit my head it didn’t really hurt it was like someone slapping your head hard. I sat up and started to smile and Adam came to check on me and laugh a little because I was smiling. When I was sitting up I felt something rushing down my head and I thought it was my sweat coming down. But then it was blood and I got scared. I told Adam to get help and he ran down stairs to get help. Someone from the teen center thought I was skateboarding and fell. I waited for people to come and while I was waiting blood was pouring out of my head. The blood was pouring down in a line making a big puddle of blood. Someone from the teen center got a towel to put it on my head and another person called the ambulance. When they came they bandaged me up and started asking me question to see if I lose any memory or not. I kept saying I was ok and they said what’s your name, how many fingers am I holding, what’s today, etc. They wanted me to call my mom to let her know I was injured. They brought me to the hospital and made me wait to bring me in the little bed thing. The doctor came and asked me some questions and I was like omg not this shit again because I was annoyed from the first guy. I was laying on the bed and they rinsed the blood on my head. My sister and dad came in to see me and the doctor stitched me up. I have a scar on my head from 3 out of 4 accidents. I still remembered when this happened it was Friday November 20th 2007 4:30pm. Almost 3 years.

Anotations on Article
(3.) Some examples will highlight the process. Several years ago one of my students conducted a research project investigating preschoolers’ conceptions of[4] Native Americans. Using children at a local day care center as her participants, she asked these three- and four-year-olds to draw a picture of a Native American. Most children were stumped by her request. They didn’t know what a Native American was. But when she rephrased the question and asked them to draw a picture of an Indian, they readily complied. Almost every picture included one central feature: feathers. In fact, many of them also included a weapon—a knife or tomahawk—and depicted the person in violent or aggressive terms.
How I annotate is by reading the paragraph several times. When I read it I chunk slowly and underline the important things in the paragraph. I take notes and write how I reacted to this paragraph. In this article this teacher is being races about Native Americans to preschoolers. She told them to draw an Indian and they did not know what an Indian was. She told them to draw an angry person with weapons and they followed her directions. Not all Native Americans are aggressive and she should have told them to draw a tribe or something different that 4 year olds know.

My Accidents (Part 1)
I'm going to talk about my four accidents as in injury accidents. All of these accidents were stupid when I was young. My first injury accident was when I was 4 years old jumping on my brothers bed because I was excited. I was excited because of about Godzilla being in the movie theater or on TV. I started running around the house screaming out Godzilla, Godzilla. I went to my brother’s room jumping onto his bed for like 5 minutes still screaming about Godzilla. There was a window next to me and one minute later BOOM I hit my right outer side of my eye. My eye hit the sharp edge of the window and I blanked out. So I don't remember exactly what happened after that, but this was what my mom told me. My Mom was in the kitchen washing dishes and heard me screaming and a minute later she heard a hard sound. She rushed over to see what happened and sees me on the ground with blood beside me. She called the ambulance and I went to the ER. I didn’t remember anything after I hit the ground or stitches on my eye. You can still see my scar next to my right eye.
My next bad injury accident was a car crash accident. This happened when I was 5 years old on my first day of Kindergarten. As I remembered my mom picked me up from school and we went to China Town to go grocery shopping. After that we were on our way back home to Alameda. We were in a small blue pick up truck with the backseats being cramped and I was sitting in the back. We end up at a stop sign and there was a car at the right, another in front of us in opposite direction. The front car went and the right side car went and while the right car went I did not see a car at the left side of us. After the right car went I saw my mom look at both sides and there wasn't a car at the left so we went. Right when we were half way crossed, a freakin car came out of nowhere and hit the tail of our truck and we started to spin around in circles. When we got hit I hit my left side of my forehead just two inches away from my eye… again. I hit my forehead on another sharp plastic edge of a broken arm rest. Do you think this accident was stupid? Well I wasn’t wearing my seat belt but it wouldn’t have helped much because it was the waste belt and probably couldn’t stop me from hitting my forehead. The ambulance came fast and opened the door to get me out. I was dizzy and I see drops of blood and I think I fainted. I remember being in the hospital in the ER again and the doctors were stitching up my two inch cut. It HURT so bad when they were stitching my cut and my mom said it was difficult for them to stitch me up because I kept moving around. My mom had to come in and hold my hand; she said I was holding her hand hard. I still went back to school and it took awhile to heal back. You could still see my scar but it’s like one inch.
I will continue my other 2 accidents next blog post.
